Levitation

During this project, we had a lot of fun figuring out how we would create the illusion of levitation. We had to take two pictures for each final product. We shot one with the subject on a chair/stool/cart and another picture of the background. After we shot our pictures, we had to go into photoshop to create a mask in order to create the illusion.

Equipment

• tripod

• camera- Canon T7 with a lense of 18mm-55mm

• a stool, chair, or cart that can easily be moved

• computer for editing

When deciding where to take my pictures, I considered a background that is not distracting. I also considered a background where it would match with the idea or the vibe of the picture.

For example for one of my pictures I shot it with a background of flowers and some trees to make it seem like she was floating on the magic carpet through a beautiful place.

For my second picture I decided to take the picture on one of the tables near the cafeteria to fit the type of aesthetic i was going for.

My pictures did work out at the end. I believe that my pictures turned out really good. I also think that my pictures do create the illusion of levitation.

Somethings that I would try to do next time I do a project like this would be to try to find different backgrounds as everyone else. I would also try to think of more creative ideas for my levitation pictures.
